Hello everyone,
A Portland sunset |
This weekend Lewis & Clark had both the Compass Scholar Program and the Admitted Students Program. It has been a super busy and high energy weekend on campus with all the admitted students visiting. I spent my weekend giving tours, hosting students for lunch, representing the Campus Activities Board at the activities fair, and hanging out with admitted students. I really love working in admissions because I get to share my experience at Lewis & Clark with a bunch of different people. On Friday, one of my roommates hosted two admitted students for an overnight stay so we all went downtown that night to explore the city and we got bubble tea.
This past week it has just rained and rained. The Willamette River is flooded right now so we were not able to row on the water at the beginning of the week. We finally made it out onto the river for practice on Friday and Saturday with the help of a little wooden ramp built by our coach to help us get onto the floating dock we have. We only have two races left in the season which is hard to believe. Next weekend we have a race in Vancouver, Washington for conference championships and then the weekend after that we drive 11 hours in a bus down to Sacramento, California for WIRA.
The weather forecast for the upcoming week has said that we might get a day that is 70ยบ+ and sunny which would be AMAZING. The rain and cloudy days aren’t bad but they do make you appreciate sunny days so much more.
There are already only 3 weeks of class left!! In 4 weeks I will have completed my first year of college which is wild. Time goes by so quickly.
Have a wonderful day,
Sarah
